Who we are

The Cookhouse Café and this website are run by Csaba Feher, 79 Queen's Road, Hastings, East Sussex, TN34 1RL, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website and through CCTV at the café, under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect on this website

This website has no forms, accounts or newsletters, and we do not ask you for any personal information. We do not use cookies.

CCTV in the café

We use CCTV cameras inside the café and covering the entrance. The cameras record video only, with no sound.

You have the right to request a copy of footage showing you. To help us find it, please tell us the date and approximate time you visited and describe yourself (for example what you were wearing). Please ask within 30 days, as footage is overwritten after that. We will respond within one month and may blur or remove other people from the footage to protect their privacy.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and gives us only aggregated statistics. Cloudflare acts as our processor; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Hosting and security

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. This is in our legitimate interest in keeping the website running securely.

Links to other websites

We link to Facebook, Instagram, TripAdvisor and Google Maps. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies and we have no control over how it uses your data.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to processing or ask us to restrict it. The only personal data we are likely to hold about you is CCTV footage from a visit to the café, kept for up to 30 days as described above. Requests are free of charge, and we will respond within one month.

Contact and complaints

For any privacy question, contact us by email at [email protected] or ask in person at the café. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
